Take a look at our sizing chart here! We understand some people are in between our sizes, in which case it is advised to size up for a more relaxed fit or size down for a more snug fit. For the best fit with SHEATH, it will depend on your build and if your weight fluctuates. If you're of the slim and lean body type with thinner thighs and smaller butt, keeping to your usual underwear size is advised. If you're on the broader side with larger thighs and butt, you may find a size up to your liking. SHEATH should fit like a second skin - snug, but not tight, allowing the isolative pouch work its supportive magic.

SHEATH is primarily crafted using our signature 92% Modal / 8% Elastane fabric blend. Modal is a semi synthetic material made from the beech tree. It is an antimicrobial, breathable, and very flexible material. It is exceptionally soft, drapes well, resists creasing, and has a smooth lustrous finish. Because modal is both absorbent and air-permeable, it remains cool to the touch in even the most stifling heat.

In addition to modal, we have expanded into other fabric options for select products, such as Polyester, AirFlow Polyamide Mesh, and Bamboo.

Yes, the pouch size increases slightly in proportion to the underwear as you go up in sizes. However, the width of the pouch does not change.

For longevity of our product, we recommend you wash them separately in cold water and use the lowest dryer setting to protect the elastic and material. If you need MORE cleaning power, you can use Vinegar for its disinfecting properties. One delicate cold vinegar cycle and then a delicate cold detergent cycle.

To best preserve the elastic, line dry your underwear, or lay flat to dry. If the waistband is rolling or anything has torn/ripped, then you could be in the wrong size, or the material was damaged due to heat from your dryer.

It was in 2008 during the sandstorm of the Iraq war, when a United States Army Sergeant Robert Patton, in Camp Speicher, Tikrit had a vision for an innovative design of underwear; SHEATH. This underwear would have a pouch sewn on the inside of the crotch area and would eliminate the balls from sticking to the inner thigh. A simple concept. By separating the balls from the thighs, future irritation from heat, sweat, and friction would be canceled.

Two prototypes were made without delay in Tikrit, Iraq that summer. Years then passed including a soft launch of sheathunderwear.com in 2010, an honorable discharge from the Army in 2011, and a year of training with a professional tailor from Vietnam in 2012. Then in 2013, SHEATH launched a Kickstarter which successfully crowdfunded the once flagship SHEATH 2.0, which is no longer an option to purchase as it has become obsolete due to further innovation.

SHEATH stands behind the quality of our products and their performance 100%. We offer a 2-Year Manufacturer Warranty to cover any defect in fabric, construction, finish or workmanship (this does not include stains from regular use or incidental damage i.e. cigarette burns). In the event of a confirmed defect, we will gladly ship out the replacement piece at our cost. Please send a photo of the affected area and description to contact@sheathunderwear.com. Only the defective item(s) of the order will be replaced.

If you would like to exchange an unopened pair for a different size or style, we will send you out the replacement pair once we receive the original pair.

US domestic orders are shipped via USPS with an estimated arrival time of 3 to 7 business days. International orders are shipped either DHL or UPS with an estimated arrival time of 7 to 21 business days, depending on the destination. Please allow 1 to 2 days for processing orders. (Please allow for extra time during sales and holidays.)

Shipping is free for all US orders over $100 USD. All other worldwide shipping is free for orders over $250 USD.
